Gitta is a Senior Biological Scientist in the Environmental Horticulture department at the University of Florida and works in the Urban Tree and Landscape Management laboratory located in Wimauma, Florida. She has a Masters degree in Environmental Horticulture, is an ISA Certified arborist, and is TRAQ qualified. She works under the leadership of Dr. Andrew Koeser whose primary research interests focus on tree risk. She worked as a Biological Scientist in the Soil and Water Science department from 2006-2013.
